I started working closely with Jean-Daniel from 2010 onwards until 2016 as Marketing Lead in the inflammation area, more specifically in rheumatology. This collaboration turned out to be extremely successful and led to substantial achievements like the real turnaround of a legacy biologic and a superb launch of an innovative new drug in the same field. These achievements would not have been possible at this magnitude without his full endorsement and co-shaping of the strategic orientation and of the organisational structure, his mindset of constantly striving after flawless execution and perfection as well as his restless efforts to achieve and surpass the agreed goals and objectives. Above all, his professionalism and his leadership within the sales team that helped them being energized and highly motivated was a very important contributor to the overall accomplishments. Jean-Daniel is capable of expressing and defending his opinions and views but always stays respectful to opinions of others and uses different views as a platform to challenge his own thoughts on a particular matter. Although we diasagreed now and then, the disputes and conversations we had were extemely valuable and helped us finding better solutions. In this respect, I feel sorry that our professional paths have diverged and am missing the lively discussions and debates from the past.
